Purpose of the Post
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, the incumbent works at the State and District level and takes sector specific technical guidance from the Communication for Development Section, New Delhi.

He/ She will be responsible to lead the design, management, monitoring and evaluation of strategic communication for behaviour and community-led social change communication strategies in support of the India country programme, with specific focus on the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Education

Master’s degree from a recognized University in the Social/Behavioural sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Health, Education, or other fields related to the work of UNICEF.

Additional degree or training in media and communication with experience in strategic communication planning for behaviour development/ social mobilization /advocacy/ participatory communication/ development and production of creative materials/ research, training or facilitation of communication/ impact evaluation of communication interventions is desirable.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in the design, planning and management of strategic communication programmes.
Experience and knowledge of programme communication design and implementation for behaviour and social change, social mobilization and advocacy.
Experience in inter-disciplinary approach in strategic communication with knowledge of UN and/or UNICEF’s work in humanitarian action.

c) Languages
Excellent Knowledge of written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of local working language is essential.
